Game slow to respond

I play with no mods or cc. I have all the packs. I play on a 2023 ASUS Tuff gaming laptop with nothing on it but the Sims 4. For some reason my game is acting up. First I couldn’t take things out of the geology table and other storages. So I deleted the onlinethumbnailcache folder. Cleared EA app cache and repaired the game. But still had the problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled both game and EA app. Still had the problem. So I completely uninstalled and deleted everything and reinstalled both.  I deleted my saves but kept my tray file which I add to the Sims 4 folder after launching the game fresh. This worked for a while but then it started again with the gemology table being a problem. Now the game is supper slow to respond if it responds at all when I click on a Sim to interact. I don’t really have any screenshots to show you because you can’t see the problem in screenshots.
My PC and drivers are all up to date.

I didn’t notice any issues when I started a brand new save at all. I played the save four Sim weeks before I added the gemology table and then the only problem was I couldn’t remove stacks from the gemology table but I could remove crystals one at a time if I opened the stack. Now I can’t even remove them one at a time. Otherwise I haven’t seen any problems (knock on wood) with the new save and the game is not lagging.

  • Syxarp  My first question is what issues you see, if any, in a new save where you've never placed a gemology table.  The idea is to try to narrow down the cause.  An older save might have any number of issues, so it's not a valid initial test.

Thank you for your help. No blue screens at all. There was problems with Sims interacting with each other is my other save. They can use the gemology table but I can’t take out stacks of items. I can take out crystals if I open the stack and take them out 1 at a time. How do I repair the errors? Explain it like you’re talking to a toddler 😂 as I am not that tech savvy.

  • Syxarp  Yes, that's what Crin was asking for.  I've moved your post to the PC tech section since it seems more like a performance issue and because your dxdiag has a pile of errors that point to a potential system issue.  Are you getting BlueScreens while playing Sims 4, or in some other specific context, or do you not know when they happen?  They're definitely happening; the question is in what context.

As for the game itself, do the problems only occur when you introduce or have your sims start interacting with a gemology table?  As in, if you never use this feature, do your saves work fine indefinitely?
