Game unable to start [de4ee14f:29f00e76:00000000:4b0d852b]

Hi! I’ve been using my MacBook Air (Early 2015, Catalina 10.15.4) to play TS4 for a few weeks now. I recently went on a CC shopping spree, and now I have around 45GB worth lol. When I tried to play the game, the code above showed saying that the game data is corrupted. So far, here’s what I’ve done to try and fix it.

  1. Repaired and reinstalled the game. Didn’t do anything.
  2. Generated a new TS4 folder by putting a backup of the old one to my desktop. Copied back the Mods folder and other important stuff. No effect.
  3. Tried putting my mods (with no cc) and the game worked. So it’s not a problem with my mods.
  4. Did the 50/50 method for CCs (with and without mods) but it wasn’t really helpful. When it shows the error for a batch, I go on and identify the problematic folder, but when I opened the game with mods + that folder, the game started with no problems.
  5. Redownloaded All CCs from problematic folders based from the 50/50
  6. Moved the contents of CC and Mod folders to their respective new folders with the same name and replaced them with those
  7. Opened all CC folders with mods one by one. Checked every CC and deleted broken CCs (no mesh etc) using the tray importer. I cleared cache files and deleted resource.cfg everytime I start the game.

The game opened with every CC folder! I thought #7 would fix it, but when I opened all CCs together, the error appeared again, so I did 50/50 again and the other steps all over again. But all I get are that error code, game crashes at loading screen and the forever loading start screen. I swear I’ve stared at that plumbob for so many hours now haha.

Hoping someone can help me because I don’t know what to do anymore. All I want right now is to do the legacy challenge ☹️ Thanks for reading this lengthy post! Stay safe!

PS Idk if it helps but I have 40+ GB of storage space remaining in my Mac.

Sounds like one or more of your Mods are conflicting with each other. You'll need to test them all individually.
  • Since you have S4TI try the Find Conflicts option and look for duplicates and overrides.

Tested all mods with each other. Nothing seemed to be conflicting.

I did this and deleted all duplicates. The overrides showed only the game data like the ClientDeltaBuild, ClientFullBuild and SimulationDeltaBuild.

Make sure that overrides are up to date as they replace the game content.

Or simply try to remove them to see if one of them is causing the problem.

Redownloaded them to make sure I have the latest versions. Also tried removing them, which opens the game but it either crashes upon starting or loads infinitely.

  • I’m experiencing something weird. When I load up the game with all my CCs and mods, it takes forever to load. So I tried to do 50/50 on the CCs again, then the same error code pops up???

  • Hi

I have had similar problems with same error code.

What I do is to clean up my folders by sorting mods and items into sepertate folders i.e:

    furniture

    Items

    makeup

    eyes

    body

    system

    and so on

it gives me a better overview and it makes it easier to do the 50/50 when you can move a folder out of the mods folder and start game and test if it starts normally. if no error you can move the folder back and check another to see if there are any errors there.

Though Sims can handle a lot of items and mods I don't recommend having so many. It makes it harder to spot where the problem is.

Right now I have about 11-12gb worth of items and mods and it's a pain to go through 5000 files to see which is broken or not.

I tried similar tools that could find duplicates, do sorting, and so on but I don't recommend using any apps for handling your files. Most I have tried just make a mess of things.

What I recommend to do is:

    Make a sorted mods folder
Delete files older than 2018. Though much older might work, I have found that many have errors.
Depending on what mods you run try and limit what mods you want to use. If you don't use them don't have them in your mods folder
Make sure you don't use many folders within folders. Keep under 5 folders deep because the game cannot always look any deeper depending on what mods you use. So mods/folder/folder/folder/folder and no more. Less is better.
    Do the 50/50

The 50/50 will make you find what items or mods that are in error. It just takes a lot of time to sort through all the files to find a file in error.

    Good luck
