[GRO] Can't place keepsake boxes in world after moving
I use keepsake boxes to sort household stuff (upgrade parts, spare collectables, etc) because they seem to be the only storage device that actually allows sorting - I can put wool in one, upgrade parts in another, etc, so anyone in the house can use them and they don't end up in a jumbled disaster. I just recently had my sims move house, and I remembered to take everything out of the fridge and the bookshelf and so forth so all those belongings wouldn't be deleted in the house move (yes I've lost a complete set of found-in-bookshelves spellbooks that way before now), and everything that could be put in my sim's personal inventory I did, because I know how desperately slow it is to try to place a household worth of stuff from household inventory after a move. So the five keepsake boxes I keep on a shelf all went into her personal inventory.
I did the house move and got everything set up right .. but I can't take the keepsake boxes out of that sim's inventory. I even tried closing the game and re-loading, and going to a different lot and back again. The one keepsake box that she normally has in her inventory for her potions collection is a different colour to the rest, and I can take that one out and access its contents, but the other five will not come out. I can't drag them from her inventory, and when I click on them and tell her to place them in world, she cancels that action and resets everyone nearby as well.
The only way I can find to get them out of her inventory is to sell them .. but I didn't take the contents out before the move and I am really tired of losing stuff when my sims need to move house. Also if you sell a keepsake box you only get the value of the box, and those boxes contain thousands of simoleons of collectables and stuff that I'm not in the mood to throw away just because the game's code is broken again.
Never CC or mods, all EPs to Eco Living and also Cottage Living and Growing Together but not the newest stuff, and a similar set of GPs and SPs.
