Help with gardening and understanding switching Sims
Hey all,
I am practically new to the Sims 4 and have been reading the forums and answers a lot in the past 2 months, but some replies are older and don't know if they still apply.
First, I am curious how do wild plants actually work - I never managed to get tomatoes in my garden, some plants I grafted, but I am curious do they grow if you do not play the world they are in or the same neighbourhood? Do I need to move to the lot so that they grow? I also spent a lot of time on some of the lots few days and it didn't help. Seen lots of older posts but did not find a definite answer.
Recently, I bought Seasons pack and only tried to visit one of the lots once and it was still the same (in season plants). It doesn't seem realistic to me that the plants don't grow if you're not in the neighbourhood. Wish that we can then get seeds like we could in The Sims 3, was sometimes a nuisance to find all but it was possible.
Second, I don't understand why do my Sims actions get cancelled when I switch sim control or go to some lot with one of the Sims. For example, I put my Sim to sleep and went out with my Vampire Sim, when I came back, the other sim was awake and doing something else, and the energy bar wasn't even full. Same happens if I go to the university class with one sim, and want to switch to a Sim at home, when I do that, the Sim comes back home from university. Is that meant to happen? Would be nice if they kept the activity I assigned them to, and which is not in the quick menu thing like "care for self" etc. If i put them to bed, I would like them to stay there, or if I switch to a Sim at home, I would like for the other to actually stay in class and not appear home after switching.
Sorry if this is being repeated but would like to hear from active and experienced players 🙂
@EeveeTinn You may not be buying enough seed packs since you haven't gotten tomatoes and potatoes. They are both uncommon plants so you have to buy the uncommon seed packs. When you open them, what you get is random so to get everything takes a lot of seed packs and it can add up if your household is running short on simoleons. It is especially frustrating when buying the rare ones at $1K a pop. I forget what the uncommon ones are atm. You can spend a lot of cash trying to get the magic beans or a specific rare plant for instance. Or in your case, tomatoes or potatoes.
Since you don't have City Living, then you don't have the option to buy them at the produce vendors as there are no produce vendors in the other packs. So in a cash strapped household, you basically have to spend enough time in a zone where they grow wild and in the right season to get them. FYI, potatoes are winter and tomatoes are summer so if you tried to find them in the spring and fall, you're not going to be able to get any.
Hope this helps.
