I tried to activate the time traveling component on an unbreakable computer, and now I am stuck because I can't repair or replace it.

I was able to get around this! I had to buy another computer, break it, and then repair it.
If you have the ghost writer computer ($10,000 one) that one never breaks, so I spent a couple weeks waiting for it to break and it never did, bought a crappy one and after a week in game it FIANLLY broke. Finally.
I had the same issue and ended up doing the same as how you resolved it. Bought a new crappy computer and it broke quickly and I was able to repair it and move on.
