[MASTER THREAD] Blast From The Past Issues

Please check this list if your issue already has a thread before making a new thread.

Issues with task currently have one collection thread in bugs which can be found here: [COLLECTION] Blast From the Past: Issues with specific Tasks.

That thread isn't that great for troubleshooting though so please use the threads in gameplay issues first to figure out if it's an actual bug, a misunderstanding or a mod issue.

General Tips

• Play the event on a new save with no mods
• Play in a residential lot and use base game stuff to do the tasks
• Don't play any occults
• Do all the task with one Sim unless you have issues.
• Check the links threads for possible workarounds
• Items can be bought through the mailbox if you are missing them.
• Move Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\accountDataDB.package to the desktop and let the game create a new one if you have any issues (PC/Mac only)

General Issues

• Blast from the past event not showing up
• Blast from the Past - can't claim
• Blast from the Past Event: Blocked from Progressing (Crashing/..)
• Blast from the Past: Unable to claim reward/Gnome fix failure message

 

Specific Tasks

• Blast From the Past: Study Historical Display not appearing
• Blast from the Past: Build the Time Travel Component not possible in apartments
• “Blast From The Past” event (week 3) - “Repair or Replace the computer” problem
• Blast from the past: Option to play on Sims Archive not showing
• Blast from the past: Blocked progress as shards are split between multiple Sims
• Blast From the past: Building component didn't fulfill task
• Blast From the past: repair/ upgrade an object
• Blast of the Past: Missing shards of time

• Can't ask elder about time shard
