Horses Dying Multiple Times

I had several horses in a previously played household. I keep getting the pop up that a horse in another household has died and to delete the inventory. My sim gets sad every time, even when the horse died weeks ago in game. The same 2 horses have each 'died' 3 or 4 times. It happens every few days.
