House Build disappeared

I built a house last night in build mode - no family.  I saved it.  Looked at it this  morning and it was still there.  Looked around the game for a bit - looked at another world and came back to Willow Creek.  My build was gone - only the vacant lot is now there.  Any help on recovering my house would be wonderful.  It does not concern me so much if I have to build again, but what is worrying me is why it happened.  What I did wrong?  And will it keep happening.  

I did redecorate a maxis house a couple of years ago and played it for ages with a family.  Went back to it a few months later and it had reverted back to the original Maxis version.  So I am doing something wrong obviously for this to be happening.  It turned me off the game and I have not played it for about 2 years.  And the first build I do, it has happened again.

    Hi crinrict and thank you for the reply,

    This was on a new build and new save.  Different lot of land.  The other house is still on the lot - just has reverted back to the original Maxis version of the house with their decor etc.

    This build was on a vacant lot of land, which is now a vacant lot of land again.   I saved it last night and it was there this morning, but not this afternoon.  Unfortunately I cannot remember what I did, except just look around at another household and also another world.   When I came back to Willow Creek, the house was gone and the vacant lot of land was there instead.

    It was rather a small house with just base game and some expansion pack items in it - no custom content.  I do have some items I have created, but they are switched off at the moment.

    Thank you billblogs for the reply.  How do I save them to the gallery?  I was under the impression that they saved there automatically.  I did look there and of course it is not there.  

    I will go and have a look on how to save to the gallery.  Again thank you

    did this happen on a new save you started now or did you use the old save that already had issues with buildings being removed ?

    If it's the later, how big is your save ?

    907f865260cf614a​ Why don't you save your builds to the gallery. That way you will always have access to your builds if anything happens in game to delete it from your save.
