How can I freeze my sims in time while playing another family?

Hey guys. I'm a bit late to the Sims 4 party but I'm mostly enjoying it so far. My main frustration is that if I play another family then come back to my main family they're always doing ridiculous ...

You would need to have them in their own savegame so they don't do anything while you play another Household in another savegame.
