In the meantime, you can merge your households using the temporary solutions listed here, here and here.

When looking for the households in Manage Households menu, be sure to check both the Played Households and Unplayed Households tabs. Have you already checked both of those tabs?

@RandomBuzziness That will work, but I usually just find it easier to move the household and just click on a house with an existing family. That'll merge them together easy.
