How long is it taking to update the game and start playing?

My game is taking upwards of 10 - 15 minutes to update and let me in the game! I guess I should be grateful because there for a while it wouldn't let me update the game at all and therefore would not let me play. Is it unusual to take so long to update? Are other people having the same issues? I keep trying to get back into this game but then these things happen! I feel like I'm wasting my money and I'm only buying games when they go on sale. I started the game at 8:12 pm and it is now 8:34 pm and the game is STILL updating! STILL UPDATING! This is insane!
