how to bring back my saved game

hey, i need help

i uninstalled the sims 4 bc my computer was broken but it got fixed and i downloaded sims back but my saved game, all the screenshots and video records, saved things in gallery are disappeared even i signed back into my account.. can i bring everything back? i know that i should have copied all the folders somewhere else before it went to the repair, but i couldn't and i would like to bring my game back so if you can help i'll be grateful.

  • What @puzzlezaddict said, I'm afraid.  ☹️  Your saves, etc., are all stored on your hard drive.  Only things you specifically upload to the gallery are elsewhere (and that's not a save, you could download your household and your lot but you'd lose your progess, what was in their inventories, what was in the household inventories, any rockets would be unbuilt, any upgrades you'd done would be undone...)

If the shop didn't (or couldn't!) save your files, they're gone.  ☹️  (Depending on what was wrong with your computer, it's possible they couldn't.  Specifically, if it was your hard drive that died.)

This won't help you now, but going forward you can copy your saves to a thumb drive whenever you finish playing.  I'm a paranoid IT person, so I back up my entire computer AND manually back up my saves.  I had a horrible hard drive death some time ago where I lost EVERYTHING and was traumatized.  You could also manually copy your saves to dropbox/onedrive/google drive if you don't want to mess with a thumb drive.

(Another advantage of manually copying your files to a different location is if you need to "roll back" because something bugged out and you didn't notice it right away, you have some versions from the day before if none of the rollback versions fix it.)

  • @MalteseDog2018  Saves, screenshots, and the like are user data and are stored locally on the user's computer, not on EA servers.  Specifically, the user data is in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.

Did the repair shop wipe or replace your hard drive, and if so, were you provided a copy of your old files?  You might still have your saves and other files somewhere; if you're not sure, call the repair shop and ask.

If you do still  have your user files, you can put them back in their appropriate subfolders inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  Saves go in saves, screenshots in Screenshots, etc.

thank you both.. they probably couldn't save anything in the shop so i'll be more careful in the future and follow your steps to keep it all safe.

thank you again and have a nice day 🙂
