I need a vacation to get over my Sims vacations!

So let me just describe the last two Sims vacations I've just had in my game.

First we had Brontë and Travers who attempted a wedding/honeymoon in Sulani. Wedding invites weren't working so I just invited their family to their beautiful vacation lot (if I say so myself, ahem) and then got them to marry with "Elope"... nobody watched it but never mind. After their family left they had their holiday home to themselves until it filled with strangers who would not leave. They watched TV and climbed the ladders up to the bedrooms, they blocked my Sims way so they couldn't cook and instead dropped food prep trays everywhere. My Sims and their dog starved until I had to use Send Home from Vacation to get them out of there. (All reported on the bug thread for the unwanted guests issue which has gone on for some time). It would have helped if I could edit the lot during the vacation to help trapped Sims but you can't do that in gameplay. In hindsight I wish I'd added a back door but I didn't think holidaying Sims would need an escape hatch when I designed it. The galley kitchen has a double entryway but both arches were blocked by interlopers.

Next I had Evan and Lila take a ski trip. They both have the Skiing Like, all the gear, the right Aspiration and off they went. After a few hours they had 3 to 4 Sadness Moodlets, an Embarrassed Moodlet and 2 red Moodlets for aches and pains. They were sad about a lack of skills at level 3 skill on the bunny slope, sad even while sledding together and sad for each other. The next day on only their second day away from home they also both got the Homesick Moodlet stuck so that made 4 (yes 4) Blue lines. They were constantly embarrassed by their skiing and each immediately got 2 injuries each. They have the Jokers family dynamic, are both Self Assured but had constant Burnout from work so I'd sent them on vacation clearly to ruin their lives! I jest... but not really.

To add to this Evan began a midlife crisis while on vacation. The goals were to do even more activities on his miserable trip. He had to do rock climbing and you can imagine how that went. I sent them hiking but their moods just kept dropping, their fun bars were red for the entire trip. Lila became Scared on the hike and started doing the Scared run. I sent them back to the lot, put the TV on and wished I could build a ski bonfire. Then I sent them home the next day and the Homesick Moodlet stayed with them for several hours as I stuck them in their hot tub to decompress.

At home almost immediately Evan's midlife crisis told him to take a Skiing trip so I have the joys of attempting it again today. Yay!

This game has become more rage inducing by the day. I never had this with previous Sims games and I've played them all. Why add all of this misery? Burnout? Homesick? Shared Sadness? Why? I'm battling changes to Console controls in build mode and added Moodlets of Misery in the game. Worse still, I paid for half of this newly added despair by adding Growing Together.

When vacation worlds were added originally it wasn't like this. It's become like this because someone saw fit to add things like Homesick, etc.

Why does nobody want my Sims to have a nice holiday? The vacations should literally have a health warning for all involved!

I'm attaching an image of Lila, homesick despite being home for a couple of hours.

Here we are, episode 2 of Holidays from Hell, otherwise known as how many negative emotions can one Sim have.

Today Evan also became sad from doing a Practice Rock Climb with Skill Level 4 and it stuck while he was hiking, well trudging sadly along the scenic loop.
