Idea for a Future Update Having to Do with Likes/Dislikes Menu for Console

Okay, I got the Likes and Dislikes update but for some reason instead of clicking on one of the activities/colors/music genres and selecting the like/dislike on consoles (where we can use the D-Pad or Left Stick button to move to either Like/Dislike) we literally have to press the Toggle Menus/Game button (I'm on Xbox), click the question mark (or Likes/Dislikes icon) and then click the Activities/Colors/Music Genres button.

Then we have to try to choose from there with the cursor still on the screen and it's kinda hard from there, considering that you have to use the cursor to click Like/Dislike and the thing keeps scrolling down to the next selectable thing underneath it.

Once you get that done it's even more frustrating because once you exit the Likes/Dislikes menu if you move the cursor to click on your Sim to see if the menu to choose their outfits would get the cursor thing off, you end up clicking on one of your household Sims' icons because your cursor is on your Sim but the game has the Sim icon highlighted instead (and pressing the Toggle Menus/Game button doesn't help either).

So can we please (if it's possible) be able to select a genre and choose Likes and Dislikes without using the cursor, or get that error fixed? If anyone needs me to I can take a screenshot showing the problem too.

But for now considering how buggy it is for console users I think I'm gonna hold off on giving my other Sims likes and dislikes.

Plus if this sounds like a bug let me know and I'll put a bug report up for it. ☺️

But yeah, if it's possible I'd like to be able to click the Colors/Activities/Music Genre button and be able to click the Like/Dislike button while using the D-Pad or Left Stick to choose between the two.

@AprilTheSimmer96 That sounds pretty convoluted! I’m on PlayStation and it’s straightforward. We can scroll using the d-pad or left stick and select likes/dislikes with L1/R1.

@AprilTheSimmer96 , I play on a PC, so the things you have to go through on console sound very tedious! 😞😥 Also, I don't know if there is a difference between PS4 and Xbox with the difficulty of controls. So, this might be more of a Sony and Microsoft issue -- I don't really know. Still I hope it is made a bit easier for you!

Also, right now you are probably changing/adding to a lot of existing Sims that you have made in the past. This might not be quite as tedious when you only have to do this to new Sims you make in the future! 🤞😉

@PugLove888 Yeah, thanks for your response. 😊 I was adding likes and dislikes to Kaipo (a Sim I created who can be found on my Gallery; sorry, had to mention that since I just wanted to, lol) so once I was done with him I got lazy and decided that I didn't want to have to go through hitting Play, going back into CAS and doing it all over again so I just decided to leave my other Sims without likes/dislikes. 😆

Though now that you think of it I probably could've just added them for my other Sims still (or at least one of them) so I think I'll do that tomorrow. ☺️ At least until I get lazy with it and be like, "That's enough for now", lol. 😂

But yeah, I hope it's made easier one day too. 😊

@AprilTheSimmer96 , Yes, if you have a lot of Sims in your game, then this can get really really tedious, even if you play on a PC or Mac, let alone play on a console!😅 At least there is now a quick button to change this on your Sims' Panel! 😅

I have many, many save game files.... I will probably not get around to adding likes and dislikes to some of the ones I haven't played in a long time! (some of my save files are only for testing anyway). But since I love making new Sims, I will certainly be adding likes and dislikes to all of them!😁 I usually have a character in mind when I make a Sim, so this really excites me that I can now make them more fleshed out in terms of personality! 🎨✨

I totally understand how you can get tired of adding likes/dislikes to all your Sims. You might just want to do it a little at a time.😉 You can just do one household at a time, or perhaps one little neighborhood in each world at a time. Even if it takes all year , you can still go at your own pace! 🙌

Also earlier I had my Sim do a mischief interaction and a thing popped up asking if I'd like to add Mischief to dislikes (since apparently my Sim was like "Nope" to Mischief) and I chose the "No" answer. Because I'm thinking of adding mischief as something she likes when I get to choosing her likes and dislikes. ☺️ Sorry if this is off topic, just thought I'd add it (for some reason). 😅

@AprilTheSimmer96 yes, the Sim Gurus mentioned this in the Livestream they had a couple of days ago! They wanted us to discover a few likes/dislikes through Gameplay, which I think is a fun way to go about it!

If you think you might want to add Mischief to your Sim's Likes in the future, then it was good that you choose "NO" to the question of if you wanted to add it to their dislikes! I look at it like even though I normally love to read, there are some times when I just don't feel like it (though those times are rare!) So in your case you can just view it as your Sim having an "off" day! 😉

Also, I think you can change their likes/dislikes later if you want. (But I haven't tried this yet, so I might be mistaken). ☺

@PugLove888 Yeah, I read you can change them at any time by going into CAS. So you are right about being able to change them later. ☺️
