Initialization Error After Game Update Oct. 27

After my game updated with the October 27 update, I have been unable to launch The Sims 4. Whenever I try to start the game, I receive an initialization error

I play on MAC and have no mods or CC installed. Before this update my game was working perfectly fine and I had never experienced any issues launching it. I tried repairing the game through the EA App, but the issue persisted.

Could this be a bug introduced by the latest patch? Thank you for looking into this!

My game is running! I went to the EA App settings under EA App > Services > Services Preferences and unchecked then rechecked the Files & Folders access. I then repaired the game and restarted my laptop again. After these steps my game launched without issue 💚

    Thank you for your help!!

My MacOS is Monterey version 12.7.6 and the Mac itself is a MacBook Pro quad-core Intel Core i7 with 16GB RAM. So a bit of an older model but I only use it as a dedicated Sims laptop

    Hi crinrict ,

Thank you so much for your reply!

I have never used mods. Previously I did have a few CC pieces by Pierisim installed, but I removed them months ago. So my mods folder has been completely empty for a while.

I followed the steps described in the guide you linked, but unfortunately I keep getting the same error afterwards.
