Interior Decorator issue with clients

I've just started playing this job, the first two gigs went fine - no issues.  3rd gig the only sims on the clients lot were teens and none of them had the client tag above their heads. My sim could still talk to them about the job but when it came to sending them away, they never left the lot. I did the renovation anyway and called them back (even though they were still there) but could not do the reveal at all, no options to show them the new items or anything.  I quit the game without saving, cleared caches and tried again but still the same issue.  I summoned the parents to the lot (MCCC) but the mother was a ghost so obviously just the teens living there on their own.  I do use mods but like I say the gigs were working fine until I encountered the teens.  I ended up just cancelling the gig.  I understand there are some bugs with with Interior Decorator which is a shame. Anyway, just letting you know the issue I had.
