Invisible Trash Glitch
I have a pretty bad problem where my Sims were getting the unpleasant surroundings moodlet when stepping into the kitchen. Couldn't find any trash or left over plates, searched all floors and the wh...
@BryonyRae Thank you! The pot rack was the cause of not being able to get to the fridge! (I didn't like the look of it anyway 🥳 ) But I still have a negative moodlet for Unpleasant Surroundings. Is this another glitch? Or is this just in my game and not your version?
Yeah, I walked my sim all over the house and never got a negative moodlet in any of the rooms. Have you checked whether your trash can needs to be emptied or one of the counters/surfaces cleaned, sink, etc.?
I checked everything. It's only in the kitchen, but it does take a lot longer to register than a normal moodlet such as the Nicely Decorated. The Sim walks into the kitchen and it takes about 10 seconds to pop up. I think I'll just have to live with it. Tried deleting the whole room, but there's nothing there. The only thing that I can think of, is when the toilet in the bathroom next to the kitchen needs fixing, the trash pile that usually appears just glitches somewhere, and I've never found that trash pile 🤔
I've never seen a trash bag appear next to a broken appliance. Just tested by having my sim use the toilet and sink over and over again in your bathroom. Both appliances broke, sprung leaks that created puddles on the floor, and gave the unpleasant surroundings moodlet, but no trash pop-up. I'm not sure how/why it would do so anyway...
I left the mess in the bathroom and came out to the kitchen, and no unpleasant moodlet out there (as I would expect, since it should be isolated to the room). I played in the kitchen, baking and cooking until my sim was exhausted. Got a grungy counter moodlet, but the sim actually placed most of the cooked food in the dining room, so when it spoiled, that room was affected. Kept working in the kitchen, periodically cleaning up, and everything functioned as expected, until at one point, I sent the sim to clean up a couple of plates on the island counter. He took one of them to the table in the dining room and then went back to the kitchen and grabbed the other one. He waved his hands in a routing failure, so I clicked on the plate to clean up again, and the one in the dining room disappeared while he went ahead and cleaned the other one. Now, I didn't get any unpleasant moodlets in either room after, so I think the game really did delete the plate, but it's possible that something similar happened in your case, and maybe it didn't get properly deleted. What I'd recommend trying is bulldozing the lot and then placing your build back on it from your library (save it first if you've made changes since you shared it on the Gallery). Since the moodlet problem didn't transfer to me when I downloaded the lot, I'm guessing that it will clear up if you place the lot again as well.
Sorry, I wasn't very clear, I meant after you repair toilet you get trash pile that you can scavenge for parts in. But anyway, I think it might just be something I'll have to live with or just get round to bulldozing the house.
But thank you so much for being so in depth with your testing. True dedication :eahigh_file: ⭐
I solved it. I had the same problem. Some invisible food aroun, i can even hear the flyes around. I deleted all the floor and build a new one, and all the surfaces i copied the object and deleted the old one after. I did this in my kitchen and there is no more invisible rotten food around.
