Issues with Mods and CC content

I was having issues with my Sims 4 loading when the new IOS update happened in October last year and when trying to fix that issues,  I moved the Electronics Art file away from the Sims 4 file. Having fixed this IOS issue another way I am now struggling to get CC and MODS in my game as the folders are not together, I have tried to combine the folders and it will not work. I have dowloaded some CC content and Mods to use in the game and they are not showing, I have changed the settings within the Sims game to enable them, yet they still won't work! Does anyone know of a way to almost reset this so that all files are where they are supposed to be and I am able to use CC and mods that I have downloaded? Thank you in advance!

  • @ktsalsa  Yes, Origin is down right now, or at least it's really hard to get in.  You may still be able to play offline though: take your computer completely offline (disable wifi or pull the ethernet cable), then launch Sims 4 from its shortcut in Applications.  It may be in the main Applications folder, or it might be in Macintosh HD > Users > [your username] > Applications.  Origin will still ask you to sign in, but you should be able to do so while offline.

  • Usually if you just try to drag it back it will work. I also know of a few mod folder cleaners that could help. If all else fails, create a new mod folder yourself in your ea>sims 4 file. And then add them to that folder. Did your tray move, also? I’m trying to understand a bit better what’s going on. I’m typically pretty good at sorting that stuff out.

Thank you for replying, I have tried to dragging it back but I am not too sure how it was originally now. I was wondering would it go back to normal if I reset the game? I dont mind losing my saved games but obviously want to keep my expansion packs and the extras.

@ktsalsa  If you move your entire Sims 4 user data folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, then let the game create a new one (which it will do the next time it launches), you can add your mods and custom content to that folder and test.  When you're satisfied that everything's working, you can also move the contents of the Saves and Tray folders from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one, and your saves, saved households, and builds will be back in the game as well.

However, this all assumes that the game is reading the correct folder.  If you move the Sims 4 folder to your desktop but your saves are still visible in-game, or you add mods to the new folder but they don't show up, it's possible the game is using a different folder.  Let me know if you need help sorting this out.

Thank you so much for your help, I hope this works, I have just tried it! However now origin seems to be down. I cant log on and it says everything is currently offline. The screenshot is the message I keep getting, I assume this is an issue for everyone?
