Joint Business Ownership or Management Actions

It is a bit odd (for me) that Sims in the same household cannot perform small business owner actions, like interacting with customers to encourage sales, etc. My Sim owns the business, he and his partner live on the same lot, the partner can only be an employee. I'd love household Sims to help manage. Any workarounds?
