Never ending loading screens have a boatloat of causes. Basically the game runs into an error and can't load the game. Can basically be anything. You can find some detailed information on them here: 📓[GUIDE] Endless Loading | EA Forums - 5037259
Few questions for you
- Are you using any mods/cc in your game ?
- Does it happen for any household or just a specific one ?
- Have you tried using load instead of resume ?
- If it's all the households on that save, does it work on a new save ?
- Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

- Delete the ones you have
- Trigger the error again
- Check if new ones are created
- If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.
Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.
