Mod Conflict Detector help

The last time i used MCD i had the older version, before the march update. I uninstalled it awhile ago, so now i have the newest version and i can't seem to figure it out. It seems pretty straight forward but i keep getting error messages and only a small bunch of mods are showing up, when i have thousands.

Here is what i did exactly - i downloaded MCD from Mod the Sims and extracted the zip file into my mods folder. I launched MCD and i selected the scan tab and hit the directory option the screenshot below is what showed.

I cannot find a tutorial on the newer version anywhere. Can someone help me out or maybe link a tutorial on the newest version? Even a link to download the older version would be great! I also attached the error messages i'm getting.

*i have subfolders within my mods folder but the MCD files are directly in my mods folder.

Now it's working, i was an idiot and had the MCD files in my mods folder. I removed them and placed them somewhere else and now it's working fine. I won't post threads about custom content on this forum anymore, thanks for letting me know.

i am sorry i didn't see your post saying not to start a thread. Can i remove this one? Didn't mean to cause issues.

That's ok, it may be moved by admin - not sure, but the main issue you're experiencing I believe would still be worked out without this tool. It's 'handy' but I don't use it a great deal.

For now i'll accept your response as a solution then. I will do some more testing and see what i can figure out. Thanks again

    Hi everyone,

First of all and most importantly - I'm glad you found the issue and how to fix it, @SaveZeIda! Thanks for all the help @Sashas0nic 🙂

Regarding the moving of the thread:
The questions posted here were completely different than the topic in the other thread so I don't think moving is needed: one thread is about an issue with mods, the other one about how to use Mod Conflict Detector. The topics are different, two topics are fine - even if the questions here were provoked by the conversation in the other thread.

That said, I can remove or merge this thread to your other one if that's what you want, @SaveZeIda.

Also, I would like to clarify something, as there seems to be a confusion around mod related questions and Answers HQ:
As Sashas0nic explained, EA/Maxis doesn't support any mods because it's content created by players, but please, feel free to post this kind of questions here on Answers HQ. There's nothing wrong with doing so. Just keep in mind that as we don't support any mods, Community Managers won't be able to help you fix issues with them, but other players might be able to answer your questions 🙂

    Cheers,
    -Mai

PS. Also, please, remember links to mods are not allowed for security reasons, neither discussing mods that are not appropriate for all ages. Thanks!

  • thank you, your response cleared things up 🙂 no need to move this thread if it's not necessary then, thanks.
