Murphy Bed doesn't work off grid!

Murphy beds are electrical and don't work off grid?! This is insane. I wanted my Sims to have a tiny cottage and live off grid with their murphy bed... and now I can't?!

There really needs to be work on the consistently of the on and off grid items... I love this addition but it's rubbish to play!!

@NikkiBeeYT, the developers talked about that in the Livestream for Tiny Living.  If I remember, the reasoning is that when the bed breaks it is an electrical problem..  The bed breaking and the chance of killing your Sim is a major feature of the bed.  You have to upgrade the bed electronically to make it either break less, or to prevent it from breaking.  This is a major feature of the bed which was included because many people were complaining that TS4 was too safe compared to other versions of the Sims (TS1, TS2, and TS3) which had a lot of chances of accidental deaths.  Also by upgrading the bed you are interacting with it more.  Finally, this was to reflect the real-life dangers of Murphy Beds in the past.! 🤨

To be honest, I'm more upset about various candles that cant' be used Off the Grid!🤭 😞

  • Yea, just found this out now with my first foray into off the grid, it's ridiculous that we can't use our Murphy beds off the grid which is helpful for tiny houses.

it's also ridiculous that the developers would decide to screw over a whole segment of players to appease another.

why not just make two bed types... one that's electrical and one that's not, then players could easily choose. OR you could give the ability to upgrade to a mechanical bed so it's just a regular pull-down bed instead of electrical.

it just seems silly they add DLC like off the grid and tiny living and then make the ONLY option completely incompatible with those paid DLCs.
