My sims 4 elders are not dying

ever since this new update, my elders have not died. For example I got the notification that one of my sims relatives died. Yet when I checked his profile he wasn’t a ghost. He could come hangout at the lot. I then cheat killed him. He died, but my sim could call him to come round and he did. He even stood next to his own urn. I have no idea what this is and why it’s happening in the end I had to force delete the sim to get rid of him as every time I loaded into my family the same phone notification would come that he died. I don’t know what’s going on. Also, my now elder sim has got -0 days left to live. And she’s still kicking about showing no signs of dying. I haven’t turned off aging or anything like that but this keeps happening and I don’t know why.
