Name generator includes random words?

I play the sim4 in Swedish, meaning that many of the names generated for townies are classic swedish names. For the last few weeks I've notices that this name list has started to include just random swedish words that aren't even remotely names. Some exaples I've seen are kulle (hill) and gädda (pike), and some more that I can't remember. Please EA fix this, it's inrecidbly weird and immersion breaking.

I use CC, but no script mods that should have any sort of interference with names.

  • @yxxan I play in English on console and I get randomly named Sims too. Many named after objects. Bones seems to be a common theme. There are loads of Sims walking around named after body parts. It definitely seems to be getting worse. In high school there are teens named Scapula or Spatula which seems to be the 2 most common names for Sims and pets too. I keep deleting them or editing them in CAS and changing their names. I also get a lot of Sims named Humerous and Tibia.

The temple guardian skeleton NPCs that spawn in Jungle Adventure have punny bone-related names (scapula, tibia, humerus).  For some reason the game turns them into humans and treats them as any other NPC, allowing them to show up in all worlds.

  • @yxxan If you have Horse Ranch, Chestnut Ridge NPCs spawn with nature/animal/landform names. I'm guessing it's a nod to certain Native American naming traditions.

Yeah, I had a suspicion that this was the reason. If that's the case it's a horrendous design choice, IMO. I hope they change this. It's literally something from the Native American culture, it simply doesn't translate to other random languages and cultures. Don't get me wrong - it's a beautiful practice, but it just doesn't translate well. Gädda and kulle are just... ugly words, it would never be fitting as a name.
