Natures Calling Event Stopped Working Halfway through completing

pretty much what the title says, but I would like some help figuring this out before the event ends. All I really wanted was the Chanclas but for whatever reason this doesn’t work anymore at all, it says need to be online every single time I play, which is ridiculous because I obviously couldn’t even play the game if I wasn’t online because you literally have to be online to play the Sims, but is there any fixing this? Does anybody know how? I’ve already seen that other people have this problem on some other forums, I have already tried what is suggested but on my end nothing fixes it. I’m wondering is there a solution for it because it’s really disappointing to miss out on something and I worked really hard in the beginning to get the stuff unlock it and I can’t even download it. Can y’all just put it in the game for all? Is that possible?
