Ok so, since you can't filter out cc and just have base game. If I were to disable my CC and build with base game stuff and save when finished, then re enable my cc... Will it mess up my sims that had CC or will they be okay?
Yes, if you save the game, sims/lots with CC will be messed up. What most of us who shares CC free stuff through the Gallery does, is make a copy of the hood and name it something like "CC Free Hood". Every time you want to do something that CC free, first remove the Mods Folder then fire up the game and only use that Hood. When done you can save that game and exit. Put back the Mods folder and start the game and play one of your regular hoods with CC. There are other ways, but this is the easiest and fastest way, at least for me.
@himchanu Hi! I wanted to clarify a couple things.
First, you should be able to filter Build mode objects to not show any CC. Just click on the Filter items... menu on the right side then select either Content -> Purchased, Unlocked OR select Packs -> Base Game (and/or any other packs).
NOTE: Using the eyedropper on an object to "copy" it will remove the filters.
There are similar Content and Pack filters for Sims in CAS but you have to choose these for each outfit category; tops, bottoms, shoes, etc. In CAS, you only have to select these and click the check-mark once for those to be the default selections across outfits.
Second, I wonder what you mean by "mess up". Removing and / or disabling CC in the game will not damage your sims or lots. It simply removes those items from your save. For example, if you gave your sim a CC hairstyle, then removing / disabling CC will cause that sim to be bald. If you gave your sim a CC sweater, then that sim will not have a top. If you placed a CC table on your lot, the lot will no longer have a table in that spot. The game will not replace a CC item with a game item, they're just removed.
The problem with this is if you ever decide you want the CC back in your game. If you save your game without any of the CC, those items will not come back if you add the CC back to your Mods folder and re-enable the CC option. You would have to manually put them back in, which I think relates to what @BylineBelife mentioned about creating a separate save in order to preserve the current state. Hope this helps!
