New foundation issue

Since the new way to work with foundations came in, I can no longer add foundations to my finished house.  I made a two story house, and when I try to ad a foundation I get the following error message:

"blocks must always have a sim height gap"

I can't find anything on what this means...  I tried experimenting by putting a second building on the lot, but I couldn't get the same error message.

Anyone know what's going on?

Save this house in this state as it is and upload it to the Gallery. Let me know when you do this and write me the name of the house and your nickname on Origin. I will test it.

@kreatora Hi! We have interacted on gallery before! Glad to see you here! I'm having the same issue - og started building on platforms, but lowered all ground floor platforms so I could put on a foundation, but the game wouldn't allow it. Did you ever find out what causes this?

@MadameNordica Hi!  Unfortunately, the most you'd be able to do is add a platform trim, many of which resemble the foundations.  I suspect they designed the trims this way so that exterior platforms would match foundations.   They did not design platforms to have a foundation.

I think using the wall/room tools instead to build your foundation, will probably be better for you in the long term, especially if you ever want to make changes to the layout of your house.  The platforms cause a lot of issues in general.  One user posted their doors and stairs kept deleting when they tried to add rooms on top of their platforms.  I was able to replicate that in my game as well.  Anyway, I think having a standard foundation will make it a bit more stable.

Edit: I did some more testing and noticed clicking the platform to select it gave me the big center raise/lower arrows.  Raising the platform this way added a foundation for the whole platform.
