No Dates allowed in small business venue

I bought a Businesses and Hobbies pack last week, hoping to have a nice bars and other venues to have dates there. Unfortunately, I cannot have a dates from Lovestruck or dates from basegame in any small business areas.

When I create a date, there's no small business venues available, and when I already have a date going, I cannot travel to a lot with small business. The icon is greyed out and says 'the lot is unavalble to have a date there'.

What then the point of this small business lots If I cannot have a date there ?

I have all EPs, almost all GP (except for Batuu, Outdoor Retreat and Streangerville).

Tested with no mods intalled.

  • Oh that sucks. I'm in the middle of making a Paint n Sip business specifically to use as a create a date and create a hangout lot with my Sims. I should've known it wouldn't work since you can't have a specific small business as a club hangout lot 😩

I would also like to see this feature added in an update. I've had the same experience, across multiple saves, where my Sims can't go on a date to any small business venue. They can go on a date to other lot types fine.

For example, if I ask a Sim on a date and select the destination world as Nordhaven, my Sims can travel together on a date to The Rogue Note (Lounge) or Konst Modern (Museum). If I hover over Loden/Koffieboon (Small Business Residential), Koopman/Terra-Potta (Small Business Residential), or Sarpong/Spilled Neon (Small Business Residential) the text reads "This lot is not available." and the plumbob above is gray. The small business names are also not visible via the date map menu, only the family household names pop up. The same behavior is seen, and expected, for Old Torget House (Residential, no household living here) and The Old Foundry (Residential, no household living here). I moved a household into The Old Foundry for testing, to see if the result was different for lived in standard residentials and empty standard residentials, and the text still reads "This lot is not available." when asking a Sim on a date.

All Small Business Residential lots do have the default NPCs living there/running the businesses so I wonder if the game is thinking the destinations are residential lots only rather than small business residentials, as I see the same behavior with standard empty residentials and the date map menu. I am not sure though.
