NPC broke up with me?

This isn't meant to be a question, more like a discovery?
My sim was dating an alien sim, who I then asked to be my roommate (she accepted.)

While my sim was at work, two other sims would visit my lot under the title, "roommate's girlfriend." LMAO, she was cheating on my sim! But anyways, one day my sim woke up to pee and she started getting sad out of nowhere. Lo and behold, the alien NPC aka my sim's rommate, aka my sim's GIRLFRIEND, BROKE UP WITH HER. I've never had an NPC break up with my sim it was soo weird. Has it happened to anyone else before?!

    @spacerangerr123 Just out of curiosity, do you think it was strictly an ending of a romantic relationship or was it more like a roommate deciding they were not happy so they were moving out? When NPC's become roommates they are given new hidden "roommate" traits that can definitely affect and change their behavior and this can make some of them really hard to keep happy. I've heard lots of stories about unhappy roommates moving out.

    Anyhow that's pretty crazy how all that happened but Sims 4 sure can be a crazy game at times! :D

    @RandomBuzziness Hey! That's what I initially thought too. But I was so upset I made them move out lmao. And she NPC proceeds to say, "I don't know what I did to make you unhappy"...blah blah blah. So I'm pretty sure it was an ending of the actual relationship. In the notification wall it came up as blue notification.

    But yeah, I thought it was so strange! It's never happened to me before. It might be because my sim started dating the NPC before asking her to move in?

    @spacerangerr123 There are hidden roommate traits that would explain why she would get sad for no apparent reason but this is the first time I've heard that something like this might cause a romantic relationship to end. Lol you had some pretty wild dynamics going on in there! I can't thing of any other game that allows us to do such fun & crazy things xD I think the developers created those hidden traits to make roommates more random and unpredictable, which is something I love having in my game. I had the opposite problem with one of my roommates, she would not stop flirting!

    On the upside, those hidden traits disappear as soon as the roommate moves out so if there was anything in there causing your (ex) girlfriend's behaviors to significantly change, they are gone now. She should still be in your game as a homeless NPC & if you plan to try a reconciliation make sure you favorite her to your My Households list in Manage Households so that there is no chance that the game culls her. I do this for all of my roommates anyway, just in case ;-D
