Off-the-grid and simple living are not compatible in the sims 4 and its ridiculo

Stand mixers from home chef hustle do not work off the grid, so I cannot cook anything if I also use the simple living lot trait.

I'm not confused about how cooking works in the sims 4, it's just wild to me that my sim cannot manually prep veggies and make dough without a stand mixer even though, historically, humans have done this type of cooking without electricity longer than they have with electricity. Cooking in the Sims 4 needs revamped very badly, allowing sims to prep ingredients off-the-grid so that cooking is actually functional with simple living and off-the-grid.

My sims are probably tired of eating fruit salad for 3 meals a day.

    @imjustzo You're right, but if you want, you can opt out of prepped ingredients when you click the Cooking Menu. You cannot make waffle and pizza though.

    You could also add a few solar panels or windmills to give you some power so the mixer will run.
