Origin & Sims 4 huge display/cursor

A couple of months back my origin screen became so big that the bottom of the screen cannot be seen, but it has still been pretty functional. Today, after I updated my Origin, my Sims 4 cursor and game display is HUGE. See attachments. I can barely see the game because the characters and cursor are so big. I have been searching the forums and found some things about having a 4K screen (which I do) being an issue with Origin, but I cannot seem to fix this. My Origin display is set at 75% because of the size. I tried playing around with the resolution in the Sims game. The game and my laptop are set on the same resolution. I'm not sure how to fix this issue. Thanks for your help!

    Thank you! Ended up mostly fixing the issue today. It was an UI issue from the November update. I didn’t realize to look in the Accessibility section and instead kept trying to change things in the display section. Though, I do feel like this UI scale should be in the display section of the menu.

    @mrsh2k, you can try removing the options.ini from the game folder and see if that helps the problem! 🙂

    @mrsh2k, I'm happy your problem is better! 🙌  I didn't mention the new  accessibility feature because 1) you said you had this problem before the update, and 2) you also had the problem in Origin, which shouldn't be affected by your in-game Sims display. 🤔  Well, I'm glad it is better now! 🙂  Happy Simming! 🥳

    @PugLove888 Yea I still can't figure out the Origin issue. It's still too big, but after reinstalling it it's a little smaller. I will just assume that it has something to do with the 4K thing too. Thanks for your help.

    @mrsh2kI'm sorry but I don't know what you mean by " the 4K thing" . 🤔

    Also, did you try removing the options.ini from the game folder  like I suggested earlier? 🤔

  • I figured it out! If you go to game options and choose graphics, you'll see the setting for display type. If you are having the same issue I am, then yours will say full screen, change this selection to windowed fullscreen and it should be back to the way it was before! Make sure you apply the changes.

    Not exactly, mine was set to windowed fullscreen, but I am assuming that in one of the updates they changed this feature..not formatting it correctly for use on a laptop. I'm not sure if that makes a difference in your case? I'm using a laptop. The Origin platform and the Sims 4 still have this oversized cursor. I've learned to deal with it. If you have other suggestions though, I am open to trying them out. Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi @PugLove888 ,

    Idk how I missed this. I did check my EA folder. I have one file labeled Options, but I did not specifically see anything that said options.ini (I'm not that tech savvy so I may have looked in the wrong area). Under the Options file there was a notes style section and I did scroll through them, but I did not delete anything. Thank you for your assistance though.
