Why is it I cant get anything to work until AFTER I start a topic about it?

My Sim was able to put it in her inventory, and THEN she was able to sell it.

Sorry for the wasted post. Situation is resolved.

It turns out that the Sim who lives down the street painted it. I made them run down and sell the painting. However, nobody seems to be able to delete the easel, move it, or sell it.
