Parenting Glitch

so my two sims had just had a daughter as of now she's an infant, however whenever I try to get them to take care of their daughter no options show anything, not to mention what keeps showing up , get get introduced with said toddler. despite the fact its literally their daughter so it would be nice if anyone can give me pointers on how to fix this thank you.
