@PenguinFoop Sorry for your frustration! Did you read through the whole thread to check for things to try and factors that may or may not have been effecting the situation when you advertised for your roommates? It may be worth reading through in case there is something new that you could try.
@SheriGR I just re-read this thread and yes, I've tried it all. In the end, my sim (which wanted to go to university anyway) finally enrolled and moved on campus. I'm scoped out the dorm rooms and noticed that my rooms were much better designed with much higher quality beds than they have in there. Also, the dorms don't have talking toilets and the roomies all use them anyway.
I have noticed though that there are three dressers per bedroom and desks with no pc's. I didn't think to remove my pc's from the rooms in my house. But the roomies I have don't seem to care. A couple of them use them.
But anyway, so I'm in university now and on campus so can't do any more testing on my lot for the time being. Maybe when my dude graduates, it'll be resolved? At least, by then, maybe I can figure out some ways to attract new roomies. I'm in the dorms for this term but I'm going to live in the off campus house for university for next term to see how it's laid out.
P.S. I wouldn't necessarily say I'm frustrated. I'm just trying to figure it out. Usually I'm of the mindset that it's user-error before I jump to it's a bug/glitch. So going from that perspective, I try to research and test different things out before getting frustrated... Again, usually though not always but I try. lol

@PenguinFoop I hope it goes well. I never did play the dorms, but I read and watched a lot about them. I chose to do my tests of roommates and students/DU via a commuter household of 7-8 Sims, a butler and 2-3 roommates (varied). It was its own kind of chaos and for a number of reasons the hardest household play I've done, but a great challenge, and I learned a lot. I may yet do a dorm Sim, we'll see. 😉. I hope your experience goes well and is fun. I look forward to hearing more.

That sounds like fun chaos. 🙂 As for my game, I've noticed that in each dorm and in the off-campus house, there is also a dresser of some sort for each sim. I set that up in a new house as well as the extra beds and now I have potential roommates coming all of the time. They come, they join, they leave, they repeat. lol
So excluding my room. The roommates' room has 2 beds, 2 dressers and 2 nightstands. I don't know if that made the difference or not but now I'm getting them every time I place a new ad. And I have 2 roomies.
As for the leaving part, that's no big deal to me because I sort of like the rotation of roomies. I only mentioned it to point out that I always have potentials as soon as I place a new ad now.
