Private gallery builds?

Is there a way to make some console builds private for certain users on the gallery? Or perhaps share my console library with my PC library? I am planning on getting the sims on PC and want to put some of the builds/sims from console in the PC version. The only problem is some of these builds are not originally by me, I just edited them. I do not want to steal and have other players upload them into their game thinking I was the original creator, I just want to be able to transfer it over to my PC game. Or should I just upload it on the gallery and delete right a way once I have added to my PC game? Can I even delete them from the gallery once I have uploaded them? Sorry I'm new to this whole gallery thing. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

  • @simutate The steps that @SheriGR mentioned for saving and sharing your build with your PC are correct. You will have to upload them to the gallery from your console (You can even put a note in them that they are temporary and will be deleted) and then download them from the gallery to your PC.

    It would be very wonderful to be able to transfer both saves and library from one platform to the other, especially since even on console we have to have an Origin account.

    For XBox One, there is no way to transfer files to the PC from your console. All backups of data happens in the cloud automatically.

    For PS4 it is possible to save your save games and library to your PC for storage in case something happens to your console, you have a backup for your PS4. There is no legitimate way to move files from your PS4 to PC for use. The files for console are encrypted and only meant to be read by the PS4 system. It's always good to keep them backed up on a flash drive if you don't have access to the cloud.

    You can save your library and saves to a flash drive on PS4. Save and close out any games that are running. Place your USB drive into the console USB port.

    • From the home screen select Settings
    • Application saved data management
    • Saved data in system storage or cloud storage
    • Copy to USB storage device
    • Select Sims 4
    • Once in the saves screen you can back up and save all your saves, userdata, and library to the USB for safekeeping and move or save the files on your PC for safe storage.

  • @simutate I'm asking some other helpers it merging the tray folders would work, but if I were you I would get both the console and PC all up and running then:

    1. Share the builds you want from your console library into the gallery (click the little cloud);
    2. Then go to your PC, open the gallery in your game in the PC, find these items in the gallery under your username, and download those items from the gallery into your game on the PC.
    3. Then go back into the console library and un-share the items with the gallery (click the little cloud so it will be greyed out).

    If you want to try this you could do it pretty quickly to make sure the items are only shared publicly briefly. Not sure if that's appealing, but I thought I'd mention it.
