Prom missing from game?

I recently downloaded the sims on my MacBook after playing on my pc for so long so I can play in bed as I’m heavily pregnant atm. I have noticed that there is no prom anymore, it doesn’t show up as an event but I get a call from a teen sim about having a party before prom? But then prom never happens, the high school still works when I join my sim at school but really missing prom from my gameplays.
