Re: Best laptop for sims 4?

@moonlightfoxx  Do you have a budget?

Most of these laptops you mentioned should be more than capable of running the Sims 4 smoothly at high graphics with no problem. In fact, they may be over the top just for The Sims 4. So if you are happy with them and have the money, I say do it as long as you looked into the reviews etc. But to also note you can probably find a good laptop that can handle the sims 4 just the same for a little cheaper price. If that is all you want a laptop for that is.

From experience and research, Alienware gets great use and reviews from most of their products. Keep in mind, The Sims 4 is a really low grade game compared to a lot of other games and because it is not online, that also helps. However things could change with new advances and The Sims 5. Most gaming laptops or desktops should be able to handle The Sims 4 on very high graphics no problem. It just depends what your preferences are for anything else you would want from your PC. I suggest researching and looking at reviews, not just from one website but all websites that sell said laptop. So when you find one you like for example look at Best Buy, New Egg, Walmart etc all their reviews and if it got great reviews for things like graphics, smooth playing and higher end games etc then you know it's a solid laptop and it will definitely handle the sims 4. I bought a budget laptop for under $500 to last a year or so, but would not recommend it for gaming, at least long term. Haha. I got this laptop with in mind I am not playing The SIms 4 as much as I use too, and been really concentrating on my blog and other stuff. I really want a desktop myself for gaming, but you can play The Sims 4 on most laptops, especially on gaming laptops as they have a dedicated graphics card etc.Personally, I am saving up for either a desktop to buy as is, and can upgrade or to build my own desktop to save on labor money and so I can tweak it for exactly what I want. Much like you though it is something I am going to have to a ton of research on. That way I can keep my laptop I just bought a couple weeks back for portable around the house etc for other projects. 🙂 You could also just try googling "best laptops for Sims 4 and all it's expansion packs etc" and see what websites or other players suggest. If you need more advice or more specific laptops suggestions I can try to browse some more for you.

@xJaimerTheGamerx Thank you so much I hear that alienware is good! I will look at those for sure!... And I feel you on a desktop because they can handle alot more but in process of moving and have alot of traveling around todo so going to go with laptop for nerding on the go! Thanks so much! I have googled it band there are so many different recommendations and I am not very tech savvy in computer specs and details so figured EA forum would be a good place to go.

  • @moonlightfoxx  As you mentioned, you will be using this laptop for a long time and for a lot of use, so you should yes get a laptop with a good GPU, decent graphics card etc...which will take a bit saving up for like you said, but it will be worth it. Like I mentioned it's worth doing some digging around on GPU's, Graphic Cards, Ram etc...It took me sometime and I am still researching all that stuff for the desktop I want next year. I bought a very cheap laptop for now that can handle the sims 4. and everything else I need it for right now, but was not like my dream laptop or anything. Basically my old laptop died after 10 years of heavy use and I needed a quick fix. Since we didn't owe any bills we took our stimulus check we get in the states because of all the pandemic stuffs going on, and got ahead on bills, bought other things we needed and a fairly decent, but cheap laptop for under $600. I kinda regret not getting a gaming laptop or more of ahigher end one, but we really didn't have the money. My husband probably wouldn't have let me spend like a grand to two grand on a laptop I am just going to trade out for a desktop in a year when I have the room for one etc anyways. Lol. However, you can get as high performance and use out of a laptop than a desktop. I don't think either is really better, it is more of do you want your PC to be portable or not. And like you said you need it to be portable. I am still kinda grey on some areas like graphics cards, so @puzzlezaddict  may be able to help you a bit more.
