Re: Cheats not working (and won't let me turn off freebuildmode)- tried everything!

Okay I moved my caves and a few other files into the new folder, and started the game up, but it still won't let me do the cheats ☹️ I don't know why some cheats work and some don't. Like motherlode still works, but using sims.fill_all_commodities and turning off freebuildmode won't work. What is your next recommendation? Thank you for helping me out! That guide was very clear even if it didn't work in my particular case.

Edit to add: This exact same thing happens in my different world saves. I checked an old game that I hadn't played since 2019, and these few cheats also wouldn't work there.

But did it work with a new folder and none of your saves? You need to play in the clean new game for a bit and test.

Okay so I just played in the new folder for awhile and it seems the cheats like sims.fill_all_commodities + all other cheats work with this new character.
But when I turned on free build mode and turned it off, and tried to edit a neighboring house, I had infinite money again and got the "Household inventory is not available in Free Build mode" thing (which doesn't happen on my played lots). Maybe that free build mode is just automatic on other lots and that one thing I'm being stupid on?
I want to add that I have no mods or cc. I've downloaded a few things from the gallery but that's all the "out of game" stuff I've done.

I've been going through more of your answers to things. Is it possible that I have a corrupted save? Is that fixable? I just want to figure out a way to get the game I've spent 200+ hours on back ☹️

Yes, you may have a corrupted save as the cheats work in a new save and clean game. You could try restoring a previous backup but if the backups are also affected there isn't much you can do https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/save-games/

Hoping someone else may be able to help with the free build mode issue, it's not a cheat I use.
