- @themastergamer43 That's odd. I know that's the way it worked in the past, unless it changed in an update. Granted, it's been quite a while since I got an award and didn't do the acceptance speech. I usually do as I said, just wait and do the "Accept award" action when someone else gets an award.
There is a minor bug in how it works. Your sim will usually automatically do the "Watch" action to watch the awards. If your sim is doing that, and you click on "Accept award", the "Watch" action doesn't cancel in favor of the "Accept" option. You have to cancel that one first.
I usually wait until I see my sim's name in the notification box that they won and then immediately pause the game. I then cancel the watch action, click on the mic and select "accept award" and unpause it. That usually works. If not, I wait until someone else wins and then I do the same thing. I always get it before the award show ends.
It's been quite a while since I haven't accepted it. It's always appeared in the household inventory in the past. I'll have to try it again and see if that's still the case. Well I didnt know you had to click on the microphone cause it was my first time going to one of the ceremonies. I won a trophy my first time too. I waited for a long time for it to be sunday. Waiting, keeping my sims from crying at the dogs tombstones and keeping my cowplants fed. When it finally came I went there. I won a trophy and got nothing out of all this effort and waiting. I feel somewhat satisfied after getting revenge on the sim host and the celebrity who accepted his.
You know what they should really add? Instructions. When the notification comes up saying you won it should also say "click the microphone to accept your award" instead of "if he accepts it'll be in your household inventory" I didnt know until I googled and found out its too late.
@themastergamer43 Well, I just checked it out on mine and you're right. They changed it. You have to actually do the acceptance speech now to get the award. That makes it more of a bug I think.
You just have to make sure to do it before it ends at 11pm. But as I said, you can just bogart the mic when someone else wins if you can't get to it when you win. You'll still get the award.I tried it several times and when my sim won the first time, the "accept award" action automatically came up, but as I said before, the "watch" action didn't automatically cancel so she didn't do the accept action. I didn't accept it myself so I sent her home and she never got the award. Tried three more times (since winning is apparently random) and the next time she won, the "accept award" action came up again and I made sure to cancel the "Watch" action myself and she accepted it just fine. The award ended up being in her household inventory.
Apparently, another bug is most famous sims end up going to the award shows at 6pm Sundays. The winning sim is chosen from famous sims currently on the lot. So, if you have a save that you've played for a while, and have a lot of famous sims, the chances of your sim winning greatly decrease.
This time two sims won and they actually accepted the award.
But when I checked their inventory they both didnt get the award even though the successfully completed the action.
- @themastergamer43 Did you check the sim's inventory or the household inventory? It won't be in the sims' personal inventory. You have to return home and go into buy mode and check the household inventory there.
