Re: [FAQ] Why don't my expansion packs transfer between platforms?

@jadecapybara Moving this to game info.

That is normal. You can't mix version.

Packs you only have on Playstation will not be available for PC.

I assume you still have them on your Playstation ?

EDIT:

Only platform cross over that works is Mac to PC and PC to Mac.

@drewstar135 Yes, your packs will transfer from PS4 to PS5. When you download Sims 4 onto your PS5, assuming your account is the one that purchased the games and all packs, simply highlight the game on the dashboard, press the options button on your controller, then select "Manage Game Content." A list of all purchased DLC will appear and you can install them all.

This must be done on the account that purchased the game and DLC.

  • I'm curious given that I spent money on ps4 and my EA  account is linked to pc if I could use my paid for dlcs on pc aswell cause I really don't want to spend more money than I have given that I originally paid for sims and now its free...

    Hey there @devilsAngel0001,

Any DLC purchased from one platform is not transferrable to another even if your account is linked, as they are purchased from separate stores. Any Sims packs you own on PC won't transfer over to console, and any console packs you own wouldn't transfer over to PC.

  • I have xbox I have the pack too can the pack come to pc with you or not

This is extremely disappointing considering the amount of money we are charged for each pack... If I connect my account I should be able to download it anywhere... 🤦

  • My problem is not between platforms but all my packs, stuff, kits; nothing transferred from Origin to EA. I have a laptop with Windows 10. I have packs up to Cottage Living.

We should really be able to transfer packs from console to pc or laptop as all the packs are quite expensive but also are good to have but who would waste money or even have enough to have packs on both electronics? Its stupid and annoying they should fix this

Right you would think this wouldn't be an issue but blah blah technical stuff. We just want to play the game with the stuff we paid for :)

this should have been an issue fixed years ago! not being able to change cross platform when you have an EA account on multiple? that seems like a huge oversight and a greedy money grab...

I don’t understand why this hasn’t been updated? The expansion packs are quite expensive, I should be able to transfer them since they’re linked to my EA account. Like with COD for example, on modern warfare, it transfers my skins over that I paid money for. This should be no different for the sims 4 packs. Considering the technology nowadays, I’d have thought this issue would’ve been sorted a while ago.
As someone who is paying money for the add ons, and investing in the game play I’d expect the content I pay for to be transferable through my EA account, as consoles don’t last forever and are expensive in themselves. I’d be absolutely gutted if my console broke and I had to buy a new one as well as having to re buy all of the packs I’ve purchased once already. I hope you can see where my frustration is coming from, as well as other players too. I hope this will change in near future, making the investment worthwhile. :)

This should change if people have their accounts linked to EA, in my opinion. I had to switch from a PS5 to Xbox and rebought some of the packs I had, but don’t plan on buying anymore as it would be over $200 just to get my expansions back and “double buying” packs isn’t worth it.

i spent a ton of money on almost all of the packs except two up till now, but i wanted to swap over to pc from ps5 and now i have to buy all my packs all over again. this is ridiculous and makes me not want to play sims anymore.
