Re: Game Over: Not Enough Money for Lot or Rent Deposit after University Graduation

I graduated from university with only $200. I'm forced to move and can't afford any lot or rent. Game over?

This also implies that if a person graduates from college with too low a bank balance, they game over and can not go on with life.

I can no longer play my Sim without awkward cheats or exploits.

Solutions

Let me at least go to a park or public space so I can live and work and make enough money for at least an apartment deposit.

Let me access my inventory to sell stuff. I still have all my furniture from my dorm and from my prior home... which I shouldn't have been forced to sell to live in the dorm in the first place.

Let me get an odd job from the move screen so that I can make enough money for an apartment deposit.

@rletcavage, will it let you use the Free Real estate cheat?🤔 If the game lets you do that in this situation, then don't view it as a cheat, but as a way to prevent your game from unfairly forcing you into an impossible situation. Much like reseting your Sim if it gets stuck! 😇

Bring up the cheat box by pressing Cntrl + Shift + C at the same time, and then type in the box freerealestate on and hit Enter.

And since you aren't playing against another player, using cheats isnt really cheating, unless you are doing a particular challenge, or trying to complete collections, since it is impossible to get the complete collection plaques if you use certain cheats anyway. 🙂 Same goes for Building in the game, as most builders always use cheats to create their houses and venues! 😉

Edit to add: Also, in the future if you want to retain your house that you lived in before college, make another Sim to move into your house or have another Sim move in to hold the house for your Sim , and when you graduate and return home, you can have them move out if you want to! 💡 This is what I now do with any Sim that lives on their own that I want to send to university.🙌 Just have them move in the old way and not through the roommate system that came with Discover University! 😉
