You need to change the lot type from Residential to Retail. Once you have built your store in Manage World you can load your household and purchase the business.

- @jpkarlsen I followed your advice but it still didn't work I don't see the cash register symbol anywhere and I have changed a lot type I did not see one for a retail place I do not know what to do do you have any other suggestions

If you are trying to change an existing lot into a retail lot, you need to set the lot type to 'retail' via the manage worlds feature. Then you can use your sims phone to purchase a retail store - it should take you to Magnolia Prominade (the small world that came with Get to Work, with some existing retail stores for purcahse), but you can also navigate to any other worlds that you own and choose any lot that is set as a 'retail' lot.

When you say the cash register symbol, do you mean in the bottom right hand side user panel? It won't show up on my phone at all which I don't know why the only thing that shows up is find job, quit job, and vacation.
- @Thats_Me_Madz Yes I do it won't show up there, neither will the thing to allow you to change a lot to a retail store.
