I'm experiencing this same error as well.  I tried what you said, inventory.purge on my inventory with a vanilla game on my original save file.  I still had the same issue. couldn't get back to my home world with any collectibles I discovered (same thing as OP, notice comes up that items have been removed because I didn't own them). However, I tried a brand new save new character everything, I was able to bring my items back to my home world. This is most unnerving.

Could you try the following cheat (backup your save first): inventory.purge then try again. Remove everything from the inventory you want to keep.

Make sure the problem Sim is active when you type it.

    @LuciferVArtist I split your post as OP never came back and this can have multiple causes.

    Are you getting any lastExceptions ?

    There is an issue with stuff becoming unowned when moving but usually that doesn't make it dissappear from what I saw on that bug report.

    No LE's given related to this.  I had an LE on my original save during this process I had it verified that it was related to glitching coffee maker. The only thing I was receiving (connected to my save) was a message saying my Items were removed from your lot due to me not owning the corresponding pack ... Nothing was missing from my house, just my sims inventory.  Any thing I picked up from other worlds that were collectibles; fish, frogs, gems, stones, fossils etc,. I come back to my world they're all gone. I also noticed the game has been taking some repair and upgrade parts and putting them in the household inventory as well.

    I tried this without any of my mods in and had the same issue. Tried it with the cheat you suggested with the same save, same issue.  As soon as i tried a new save I was able to find items and return home with all items I collected.
