@anyalvares If you're asking me I would assume you are already seeing things in it that appeal to you in Get to Work, so I would say yes. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Get To Work is my 2nd favorite pack. It allows you to build, purchase and run retail stores, and I use it a lot. The stores (retail) are my favorite if used to sell my sims' wares. You get a pretty nice profit if you sell high quality skilled items your Sims make (or grow). My Sim households who do this as a large household working and running the store as a group are millionaires now. They do work hard and rotate managing/cooking for the store, etc., but it's a fun, great challenge. Just scale back to make it less work. Still... potential for great money! You can also join your scientist or doctor at work, work with aliens, visit Sixam, and abductions are also introduced.

My #1 fav pack is Seasons. Very cool, lots of features added, and it adds the gardening careers > Botanist career and the Flower-Arranging career. I've used flower-arranging as a nice combination for my retail stores in 'Get To Work'. And I love all of the gardening aspects of this pack! If you don't have 'Get to Work', you can still work in the career and build the skill and sell arrangements - which can be pricy with certain high quality flowers from your garden. I've had a lot of fun with the features of this pack... and it is WAY cool to see it snow and cover their world...  There are a lot of challenging parts that are a cool switch-up in your worlds in this pack. I see Seasons as a near-essential enhancement to all of the worlds. It adds challenges (weather, etc.), realism, holidays, and so much more!

My 3rd favorite pack is Cats & Dogs. The dogs I have are super cute and add personality and companionship to your household. They love swimming in the pool, too! If you get a cat, get the letter that cleans itself... the top of the line one. Well worth it! A maid & butler will help with the poo in the yard. It is pretty cool, though, if you love pets &/or cuteness. That pack also introduces the Vet career.

@anyalvares, I have to agree with @SheriGR  in that I enjoy the Get to Work EP over the Get Famous EP.  I do love the CAS clothing and hairstyles as well as the Build/Buy Mode objects in Get Famous, but for gameplay I prefer that of Get to Work! โค๏ธ

In being a Doctor you have to figure out what is the matter with each patient by narrowing the options down by doing things like taking their temperature, or have them running on a treadmill to check their stamina, etc.  Patients will also get various rashes, or come in pregnant (but only for the work day, as there will not be any additional babies added to the game in this way).

Detectives will inspect crime scenes and gather clues, talk to witnesses, and then analyze evidence in a machine or fingerprint those brought in to the jail.  When you are ready to solve a crime and make an arrest you will interrogate the suspect.

I love the Scientists career!  It has a lot of powerful objects that you build and upgrade at work. You also gather a lot of metals and crystals and test them , and you get the chance to use a Sim Ray on your coworkers or even go to the planet of Sixam and meet Aliens!  The Sim Ray is one of the objects you create and upgrade.  You can also transform objects with this , so if you have an apple or a broken fossil, you might be able to keep transforming it into something much more valuable! ๐Ÿ™Œ  There is also a satellite that you can create (used to influence moods or to contact Aliens or prevent abductions) , a cloning machine which is handy for cloning rare objects or serums or even Sims! ๐Ÿคจ And there is the wormhole generator where you can upgrade it to visit Sixam . ๐Ÿค“

Edit:  I forgot to say my favorite EP is Cats & Dogs ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿถ , but the EP I most recommend to others is Seasons, which is my second favorite. I think most people enjoy Seasons as it adds so much to any playing style! ๐Ÿฅณ

If you have any more questions about Get to Work , or other packs feel free to ask!

    @anyalvares  Yes and no.

With all the current bugs, I'd hold off getting GTW or Get Famous until the bugs are fixed.

Right now, GF's acting career is completely broken and unable to play until they fix the prep task bug.

The scientist career has been broken for a LONG while now and doesn't look to be fixed any time soon. Since gardening doesn't work on public or work lots, the majority of the daily scientist career job tasks cannot be completed. It can still be played but it's incredibly difficult without cheating.  There are mods available like my Scientist Career Graveyard shift and Gardening fix that "mostly" fix the problems but it's the best solution available ATM.

I "think" the doctor career works fine, I don't play it.

The detective career has a few bugs and lot of problems if you play with CC. It can be played pretty well if you manually fix your CC (which are ALL incorrectly tagged and takes a LONG time).

I like the jobs, but unless you are a modder, play with mods, or know how to use exploits, GTW isn't for the newbie.

@Psychotps I can appreciate your frustration about the issues, and that you have found Mods that worked for you in this career. However, I've never used Mods or Custom Content. I was about to use the scientist career fine as-is. I know that @PugLove888 also does not use Mods or CC and has played the scientist career even more than I have.

I do remember that I did go into build mode on the science lab lot while my sim was there/at work and put in a different garden that was 'improved'. I don't remember the details now about what I had to improve with it, and I do remember that there was an issue with the plants not spawning the produce since no one was there at 6am or whatever time is necessary for product to spawn? I don't know what the state is of that glitch or if it was addressed yet by EA in a patch. I expect PugLove888 will know more information about the state of that issue, and @kreatora has also played in that career/lot and discussed the garden with me in the past, so perhaps he has information to add.

Either way it's not a huge issue with enjoying the career, imho. You can grow the plants and bring the ingredients you may need from home in your sim's personal inventory, bring a plant with you from home that is 'ready to water' and add it to the lot for the task, or just not always complete all 'tasks' on the job. Not a game/pack breaker. There's so much that is really cool about the career that is very achievable. And sometimes the workarounds while waiting for a bug fix teach me things and end up adding a reasonable challenge that I don't mind doing for a while.

I also loved that while at work with your sim you can edit the science lab, as I also added a break room and other features for practical and comfort purposes, which was fun and useful.

@SheriGR Well yea, I did all that too. A re-design was one of the first things I did. It really needed an office area and proper break room. And that split-off section duplicate work area was just weird.

Unfortunately a great deal of the tasks require plants. Most (all?) of the potions require plants, then there are other tasks like Order co-workers to garden, analyse flora, examine under microscope, transform some grass, none of which can be done.

Sure, you can bring all the plants with you if you know before-hand what potions you will be making that day. Fortune teller? What... you going to bring ALL required plants with you every time you go to work? Quick search shows there are about... 14... different plants? That's not including alien plants, crystals, or metals.

Ok, so you're saying I should take over a dozen plants and over a dozen microscope samples with me to work every day? I don't think that's very practical. I think the bugs should be fixed.

Bug was never addressed, just forgotten. It's currently one of the older bugs in the game.

Sure, there are a number of things you can still do, but Unless you bring over a dozen plants and microscope samples with you to work every single day, there are going to be random situations where you can't progress and will lose job performance simply because of a flaw in the game.

So, the only option left is to what... Cheat? Ignore the broken parts?

Sheri called me so I'm here. ๐Ÿ™‚ Unfortunately, I don't have good news. I solved this problem by setting up my own garden by the house and traveling to work with a supply of basil, parsley, daisy, and roses. If I had a task to water the plant. I just planted a new one from the sim inventory. But of course, this is just a workaround this issue and the problem with the garden at the Institute is still annoying.

@kreatora  Those plants handle a lot of the lower-level potions, you'd still need ones like mushrooms, carrots, I think spinach and a few others. Those are the only ones I can remember off-hand.

Didn't think about the planting. Of course that'd only work a few times until you filled the pots. Unless you used cheat commands and deleted the plants to re-empty the pots. (Well, I guess you can just plant outside anywhere also...)

Until I wrote my mod, I used the cheat menus and made the plants "dry". That way "Water Plants" and "Order co-workers to Garden" would work.

My mod just shifts the work times to 12am-9am so you're actually at work at 5am when the plants spawn. It solves ALL of the gardening problems, but only at the science lab. It causes a minor holiday-related bug though but I'm willing to live with that if all the plants there work again.

But as I'm sure you know, this bug isn't only limited to the science lab/career. I tried creating a park in Newcrest ages ago with harvestable plants. To this day, none of them have ever grown any fruit, dried out, grown weeds, or changed at all in any way.

I had time to read your post. ๐Ÿ™‚
Yes, I know it, but I think it is by design. It probably was supposed to stop the home garden from growing when the sim is on vacation, but as it often happens with good intentions this idea in practice caused only more trouble for players.

@Psychotps, I have not played the Scientist career since the last 2 patches, but I have had no problems because all of my Scientists have gardens at home.  I gather stuff at home (both produce and samples for the microscope ) and can complete almost all of my tasks no problem! ๐Ÿคจ  The only ones I can't do are the "water a plant" tasks, those of which I just ignore, although both @SheriGR  and @kreatora  have excellent workarounds for that ๐Ÿ™Œ , that I have not tried yet ๐Ÿคญ.  But even without those workarounds, it has never hindered me more than a tiny bit. I can still either get enough tasks done in the day to get full credit, or occasionally I'm just slightly short a task or two, but still get credit for a good day's work.  Frankly, I have more trouble getting 3 Sims to change their clothing into another category if it is too close to quitting time (usually if I stay at work late). That is much more likely to cause me problems than the plant bug! ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ƒ  Also, I have never used Mods and have never had to cheat for my tasks !   The cheats I mostly use are irrelevant at the science lab (move objects, kaching, free realestate).   So you might not get every task done every day, but you can get most without cheating or Mods! ๐Ÿ™Œ  So, unless the last couple of patches have changed things , this should still be the case! ๐Ÿ™‚

But I do agree that they should fix the gardening for this work site.:โ˜น๏ธ  The problem is that plants now reset and sprout produce at about 5:30 am but only if your Sim is on the lot, which is impossible at the lab.  But again, all my Scientists have gardens at home , so it isn't game-breaking; I just think it would be even more fun to be able to fully garden at the lab, especially since I want to have a Cowplant at the lab! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Edit: I forgot to say that usually when I can't ;make a serum, it isn't because of plants, which I have plenty of, but because I don't have the right metal or crystal! ๐Ÿคจ
