My game is almost brand new (April) and i really want to know how to stop the sims from aging up, and FYI, there are no three dots on the top right corner! Is anyone else in this situation?
Ok, so "I think" there are a few questions here.
1) the three dots is the control that opens the game menu. You can also access this by hitting the Escape (ESC) key in the PC game (not sure on Mac).
2) under the menu select "Game Options"
3) under Game Options select "Game Play"
4) There are two options here that I assume are the ones people are referring to (I have both on and lifespan set to "Long" they are...
a) Auto Age (Played Sims) - which will protect your household (there are sub options).
b) Auto Age (Unplayed Sims) - which is everyone else.
Other options are to invest heavily in the life potions ( my approach of choice) from the rewards area and/or getting to like playing Vampires 😉
I also tend to watch the notification messages when a Sim I am particularly fond of dies from random acts of stupidity and search the world for their Tombstone/urn. I bring those back to the active lot and go through the act of resurrecting them even if elder. It takes a while but I find that sort of thing interesting. A life potion helps but for better results you can use two cheats to make them much younger then release them back into the world.
I think it's all a matter of personal preference, the fact that there are so many options is one of the strengths of the game.
