now wait just a minute because there was one sims game and i think it was like sims 2 but there was one that was two player and it was on wii and you could walk around without using the diamond above their head. 

actually it has been said that it was meant to be a multiplayer game but the creators changed their minds. so no it hasn't always been a single player game

Sims 4 was not supposed to be multiplayer, please give references to facts when you say things like this.

But yes, some of the other games have had multiplayer options for Console, but not all of them. The original The Sims did not, but they created spin-off console games that were multiplayer. The Sims 3 also had no multiplayer option for consoles.

But this discussion is not about whether the other games had it or not, it's about The Sims 4, a game that is only a single player game.

That there exist a mod that allow some limited multiplayer does not mean that the game itself is multiplayer.
