@shykendrick  All the packs you've bought with money are still yours.  (If you got any packs through the subscription, as in, you didn't need to pay, they'll disappear.)  So yes, you can cancel EA Play and just get the free version of Sims 4.

Normally, you shouldn't need to uninstall the game; that's how things are supposed to work.  However, you may need to do so or to remove this version from your game library.  This has been a problem with Origin for years, and I can't promise you won't be affected.

Still, at worst, you'll need to reinstall the game, but all of your content will still be available to you.

It's a good idea to back up the user folder, as in, the Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts, before uninstalling.  This contains your saves and other user data, and in fact it's best to back up this folder often, regardless of whether you're planning to uninstall or facing technical issues.  You never know when you might need that backup.
