I think the only benefit is: 1. Performance (If you have a good PC, it will be always run better as on console) 2. Mods and CC.
I would only start with basegame and try some mods. If you like it, I would begin to buy packs but only if there on sale or you could try EA Play if you are interest in more games from EA.
EA Play(4.99/ month) you can use sims4 Digital Deluxe for free, if you use PlayPro(14.99/month) you can use Dine Out + Kids room (But I really think EA PlayPro is not worth the money if you only use sims4. It would be only worthy if you get more DLC for 14.99/month) EA Play normal is okey if you just want try sims 4 for a month. The 10% discount which you got from EAPlay don’t stack with sales, so it’s not worth the money. (At least for the steam version)
