@JaySnowy You're right, there's no reason your laptop hardware or software should have this issue. Even the iGPU should have no problem with the game (although maybe not on ultra settings), but please do confirm that Sims 4 is using the Nvidia card. The simplest way is to tell Windows to do so: open Settings > System > Display > Graphics settings, click Browse, find TS4_x64.exe on the list, and set it to the high-performance option.
The other questions I have are whether this happens in other worlds and during winter, as opposed to fall. Please let me know what lot and world you're playing now too.
