Re: Save File Size Massive Increase

@ShemL44 Could you check if the game created lots of households in your household manager ?

No, it's turned off. Nothing changed besides the household I added from the gallery. That was it. That's why it's very confusing.

@ShemL44 Are you using a mod to turning off the creation of households ?

Just turning off neighborhood stories doesn't prevent the creation of NPCs households.

Do you have any other issues than the save being bigger ?

Everything setting including MCCC has making new Sims not happening. I've checked the other households tab and nothing. No new Sims have been created without my approval nor do they ever.

I've been playing the Sims 4 for over 3 years now. Two of those years on the console and switched to PC when it became a free game in Oct 2022. I understand a lot about the game, but something is seriously off when your save file adds over 20 megabytes to its size without a lot of new Sims being added out of the blue to the game or lots of new houses built.

I only notice the size difference because every night after I'm done playing I back the save file to my cloud drive. And when I saw the new size, I couldn't believe it. Especially since I can't notice any issues, load time, etc and I wouldn't have noticed had I not been staring at the size of the file after I'm done playing the game and backing it up on the cloud.

So what I am hoping for is for some logical explanation to how this is possible and to correct it. Because what is to say it doesn't happen again out of the blue and create new problems from it?

    HOLY MOLY!!!

So what I did is recover the save before this happened from my cloud before I added that family. Before that, I saved the family to my library so I don't have to do those little edits again. Nothing I haven't done before. In fact I edit every Sim in my game to my liking. I open their households and assign their beds and such. Nothing new.

Anyway, so I added the family again. Played around a bit and did some saves while getting the family set up. Checked its size and it seemed to have corrected the issue when I would save my progress. Then all of a sudden out of the blue when I saved it right before I was to go to one of my regular household and move the family into the other household tabs, it did it again. It added 21 megabytes to the save out of nowhere. WTF???

@ShemL44 It's really hard to say what's going on. Could be anything really.

In the MCCC discord there's folks that know how to check save files with S4 Studio. Maybe they can tell you what's going on.
